Merck secures naming rights for the academy

Darmstadt 98's Nachwuchsleistungszentrum (NLZ) is undergoing major changes as the club aims to enhance its youth development program. The transition concept, implemented this summer, involves comprehensive restructuring and strategic partnerships.

One notable development is the acquisition of naming rights by Merck, a long-standing premium sponsor of the club. As a result, the academy will be known as Merck. Darmstadt 98 NLZ.

The transition concept is designed to align the NLZ with the club's vision and goals, focusing on player development, education, and long-term success. The changes include a revamped coaching staff, enhanced training facilities, and a tailored curriculum for young players.

Furthermore, the NLZ has established a close partnership with the DFB Talentförderung program, which provides support and resources for youth development in Germany. This collaboration aims to identify and nurture talented young players within the region.

The club's sporting director, Carsten Müller, will continue to lead the NLZ as Sportlicher Leiter. Müller's extensive experience and commitment to youth development will be instrumental in shaping the academy's future.

The restructuring of Darmstadt 98's NLZ is a significant step towards strengthening the club's foundation and ensuring the long-term success of its youth players.
