The world of "A Quiet Place" is growing, with a new prequel film on the horizon. "A Quiet Place: Day One" will explore the origins of the terrifying monsters that have decimated the human population.
Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, who starred in and directed the first two "A Quiet Place" films, are set to return as producers for "Day One." Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, who played their children in the previous films, are also expected to reprise their roles.
Joining the cast are Lupita Nyongo ("Black Panther"), Joseph Quinn ("Stranger Things"), Alex Wolff ("Old"), and Djimon Hounsou ("A Quiet Place Part II"). Hounsou will reprise his role as the man who taught the Abbott family how to survive in silence.
The film will be directed by Michael Sarnoski ("Pig") and written by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, who penned the first two films. Filming is set to begin in March 2023, with a release date scheduled for 2024.
