Wheeler (10-5) allowed two runs on four hits in six innings, with three walks and six strikeouts to lower his ERA to 2.65. The Phillies came out swinging, tagging Braves starter Bryce Elder (1-3) for 10 hits and six runs in just 2 1/3 innings. With the win, the Phillies closed to within two games of the first-place Braves in the NL East and are now 53-46 overall. The teams will play the final game of their three-game series at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday night before the MLB trade deadline on Friday.
